A key program in Music Elements is entertainment for the

awesome!" Anita is wonderful! The residents and staff of 4C and
4D at the ENRM Veterans Administration cannot say enough food
things about Anita. As the population here at the hospital
continues to age, and for many decline, planning therapeutic and
enjoyable programs gets harder and harder. Music is a huge part
of our programming here at the hospital. it helps to bridge the
gap between all of our residents, whatever their physical or
cognitive level.Residents that will not
come out of their rooms for other programs, get dressed and come
to Anita's program. many of the residents have recently stared
to make specific song request and in so doing reminisce about
what the song means to them. I have seen residents that normally
stay in the background during programs get up and dance.
Residents that normally only observe in my sing-a-long program,
sing with Anita during her show. Anita makes sure that she makes each and every resident that attends her program feel
important and involved. Anita remains focused on the residents
the entire time, mingling with them, dancing with them,
listening to their stories and requests, and at times sharing
the microphone with those residents that like to sing. I would
strongly recommend Anita to any Recreational Therapist or
Activity Director that is looking to enhance the music component
of their program,

remember most! The songs and sing-a-longs range from
Standards and Broadway to Oldies and Country. We have considerable
experience with all residents and their care ranging from
Alzheimer's disease, dementia, ambulatory and long term. We make
each show special to everyone by dancing, swaying with them in their
wheelchairs, holding their hand or just making very tender eye
contact to help stimulate them in a very positive way. The reward is
that wonderful smile or sparkle in their eye that lets us know they
understand and really relate to the music.
We can also make the holidays special with theme parties that
correspond to a particular time of year such as Valentine's Day, St.
Patrick's Day, July 4th, Halloween and Christmas. We even have New
England's best Santa!
